Welcome to the survey

Please read this information before signing into the survey:

The Life-Span Institute at the University of Kansas supports the practice of protection for human subjects participating in research. We want to share details of this project for you to decide if you want to help with this self-determination survey. Even if you start this survey, you can stop answering items at any time, close out of the browser and therefore choose not to be in the study. Whether or not you participate will not affect your grades, any educational program, or your status at school or work.

This study contains survey items that will be used to create a new measure of self-determination for youth and young adults between the ages of 13 and 22 years called the Self-Determination Inventory Self-Report measure. There are no right answers to survey items. It will take about 20 minutes to finish the questions about goal setting, problem solving, and taking action on tasks.

All of your answers will be grouped with other students' answers from across the country. Your individual responses will not be shared with anyone. But, we also want you to know that it is possible with internet communications involved in survey responses that through intent or accident someone other than the intended recipient may see your responses.

If you are 17 years old or younger, please click here to have your parent provide consent for you to take the survey.

If it is OK with you to participate, please sign in to the survey to complete the items.

If you have questions about the study, please click here to send an e-mail to our project staff: selfdetermination@ku.edu.
